There’s No Other Option

“There’s no other option” is an incredibly powerful way to set your priorities.

When I was younger my mindset was: I will either be successful or I will be homeless.

Although this is extreme, I thought it was necessary for success. Sort of like burning all mental bridges. (The definition of success is something I’ll get into another time.)

Life is only worth living if you know you’ve given it everything you’ve got. Not when you are successful and actually reached that echelon. But when you know you could not have given any more effort.

My idea of “No other option” is incredibly simple. I am not trying to sell this concept, only speaking to those who are intrigued by it.

Saying this is easy enough, but the action behind it may be the hardest to endure.

What it means is that you need to be willing to put it all on the line and bet on yourself completely.

You may have to quit your job and/or lose friends and money. We all know the consequences to achieving success, so I don’t need to get into that here.

What I am trying to convey is when to tap into this “no other option” type of thinking.

As humans, our natural state is to be lazy, other traits like anger and sadness come and go, but for some reason laziness is always there.

The strategy I use for overcoming this constant feeling, is this phrase I keep repeating. What else are you going to do? Laziness leads to want and want to envy. The choice is clear. Either be envious, or get it done.

In any rational person’s mind the latter is the obvious choice, and in my mind, there is no choice.

See what you did today and stretch the exact same day over 3 years, are you any closer to this “dream” of yours? If not, you’re choosing envy.

“No other option” is powerful. It gives you optimistic long term thinking in 3 words.

Use it when you’re scrolling, gaming, drinking, smoking and anything else that wastes a second of your precious time here.

I am speaking to myself. In no way am I perfect, but I am writing this so that I hold myself even more accountable than I already do. Our path is just beginning and I know success is ahead, I am sure of it.

Because there’s no other option.

Keep growing,

Eyal & Yoav
